Samsung news and announcements

  • Verizon's Galaxy Note 2 pictured?

It looks like Verizon's very own version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has just been leaked. Although the device is already expected to hit Verizon anyway, it's interesting to see how it will look like. Engadget says that the leaked screenshot of Verizon's Galaxy Note 2 is a bit fishy, considering the near ridiculous Verizon logo on the home screen. Stay tuned for more updates.

  • The Galaxy Note 2 Is Official!

Samsung just announce the Galaxy Note 2, but release details are scarce. Still, we're happy to see a successor to this surprisingly successful "phablet".

  • Is Samsung Building the Rumored Amazon Smartphone?

For over a year now, we hear the occasional rumor about an Amazon Smartphone, but it never seems to be much more than that. Maybe that's because Amazon isn't really building a smartphone under its own brand. Unlike the Kindle Fire, which is sold as an Amazon-branded product, the new Samsung Galaxy Stellar seems to be an Android device with the Kindle's software/media-store suite instead of the usual Google apps, according to a screenshot sent to DroidLife.

It seems to a be a smart move. Samsung is a successful, trusted and recognized brand that can push this product into the mainstream better than Amazon can alone. Furthermore, if it's a flop, Amazon doesn't have to take the hit alone. Either both companies win big, or both companies lose very litte.

If your phone hasn't downloaded the update or hasn't asked you to install it, it should only be a matter of time. We don't imagine you'd have to wait too long.
