We learned about the Sony / Sony Ericsson ST25i, codenamed "Kumquat", in early December thanks to the Xperia Blog. It's not a flagship, but it should turn out to be a solid Sony handset. We hear it'll ship with a 1GHz, dual-core processor and a 3.5-inch display. As is the custom for Sony phones, the camera should be good for a cell phone's; you'll get a 5MP, 720p shooter. The ST25i is supposed to the be the Xperia U, but it may retail under a different name in the US. You can thank Xperia Blog and ePrice for the previously leaked pics. Expect a launch around May.

  • Now Available: The Sony Xperia U

    Launching into retail stores a few days early, the Xperia U is now shipping out of Expansys, Amazon UK and Amazon Germany. Expansys ships to several countries, so the Xperia U should be available to most parts of the world by now.

    Codenamed "Kumquat" before it adopted its retail title, this Sony handset features a 3.5-inch display that covers up a dual-core processor. A 5MP, 720p camera claims the rear. Of course, this is an Android handset. 

  • Xperia P And Xperia U Launching Late May In Europe

    British retailer Clove says the Xperia P and U will be on store shelves on the week of May 28th, not necessarily the 28th itself. It's also expected in Malaysia before May ends. No matter where it lands, we're certain retailers will quickly import it into other parts of the world if Sony doesn't do it soon. We'll continue our investigation as the days pass. Stay tuned.

  • Malaysian Launch Details for the Xperia P, Xperia U and Xperia Sola

    Sony plans to release the Xperia P, Xperia U and Xperia Sola in Malaysia before May ends. The Xperia U and Sola should become available on the 15th, but the larger Xperia P won't land until the 23rd. Each of these phones feature a 1GHz NovaThor STE U8500 dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. The Xperia P actually doubles the RAM to 1GB.
